  1. Wide mouth glass jars of sufficient capacity, fitted with plastic or plastic lined metal screw cap for low temperature tests involving solutions or solvents of low volatility.
  2. Erlenmeyer flasks of sufficient capacity each fitted with standard taper joints reflex condenser attachement for loose with volatile solutions or solvents.
  3. Containers as described in (a) & (b) having an inert coating on their inner surfaces or cointainers of a suitable inert material (such as polyethylene) for use with solution.

QUALITY ASSURANCE MANUAL / PROCEDURES :
 
To ascertain the Quality of Products, the physical as well as Chemical Resistant Test are conducted in or Laboratory as per procedure described in IS Specification. Normally, Acid/ Alkali resistant mortars are tested in Laboratory and confirmed to I.S. detailed as under :-

Resin type Chemical Resistant Mortar : An intimate mixture of Liquid resin and a Powder in proper proportion are mixed at ordinary temperature to form trowel able mortar that subsequently hardens. The set mortar should satisfy the following requiement when tested after 7 days in accordane with IS : 4456 (Part-I) 1967.

CHEMICAL RESISTANCE MORTARS :
 
Most of our Chemical Resistant Mortars are normally resistant to most of inorganic acids/ alkali, salts, solvents and organic acids except oxidizing agent, fluoring salts and hydrofluroic acids. Special type of Mortars are prepared for severed conditions of hydrofluoric acids & flurouen salts. To evaluate the Chemical resistance fo Mortars under anticipated service conditions. We follow the procedure described i I.S. 4456 (part I) 1967. Our Chemical resistant Resin & silicate, Sulphur type Mortar are mostly conforms to the requirement og I.S. Specifications. The proportion of Chemical Resistance Mortar conforms to I.S. for utilization in acid resistance Bricks / Tiles lining work.

QUALITY CONTROL SET - UP :
 
As we are the manufacturer of Anti-Corrosive materials, it is necessary to maintain "Quality" of our products. For this purpose, we have our own testing laboratory. In our testing laboratory, our anti- corrosive mortar is tested as per IS Specification and as well as desired by our clients and firms under strict quality control parameters. Right from testing of Raw materials to manufacturing & final inspection of finished goods ready to dispatch, we take care to maintain the quality. We are carrying out the method of test for Mortars as per IS : 4456 (Part-II) 1967.
 
 
A)
TESTING PROCEDURE OF CHEMICAL RESISTANT MORTAR :
 
  1. Working Time : It is the time between mixing of Resin and Powder upto the mortar start to curl behind the trowel when applied on the Brick or tile. It is measured in minutes. To determine the same, we have balance of 1 Kg. Capacity sensitive to 0.1 gm., mixing pan, trowl etc. Atmospheric condition is also affect the working time of mortar.
  2. Setting Time : To determine setting time of mortar, we have vicat apparatures Setting time is recorded in hours when the needle brought in contact with the test block of mortar, released, filled to pierce the Vicat Mould for about 5 mm measured from bottom of the Mould.
  3. Cube Mould : Modern test procedure required specimens of Mortar to be casted in certain standard shape & size for determine the physical as well as chemical resistant property with a view to have a proper control on the quality of the materials used. For casting the test sample, we have various types of moulds like moulds for :
      - Compressive strength IS : 10086
      - Flexural strength  
      - Tensile strength  
      - Chemical resistant test....  
 
  1. Density of Mortar : By following forms, density of mortar is determined.
      D = W/V

      V = Volume fo Mortar in Cm3  
 
  1. Compressive Strength : For this test, we have installed Compression testing machine AIM -305, AIMIL-500 KN which is electrically -cum - manually operated. This machine consist special test bed, Non-return value. Plunga & Control Panel.

    Six 50mm x 50mm in size cubes are casted from the Mortar manufactured and then each cube is tested in this machine. Load applied on the area of 1 Sq. cm. is calculated as compressive strength.
  2. Fexural Strength : To test the Flexural strength of mortar being manufactured, Six specimens are prepared having dimension 25mm x 25mm x 250mm in required mould and after 7 days, Flexural strength is determined as per method of IS:446 (Part - I ) 1967.
  3. Bond Strength : It is necessary to determine the bond strength testing machine on which load is applied at a constant but adjusted rate. Calculate the load on area of 1 sq. cm. at which the Bond fails in between mortar and ceramic tiles.

CHEMICAL TESTING :
1)
Absorption of Water : To determine absorption of water of mortar, various types of apparatus are required lke Oven, Balance of capacity of 100 gm with sensitivity of 0.5 mg., plastic moulds of 25mm dia x 25mm length to cast the mortar specimen. The set specimen of mortar is immersed in water for 24 hrs. The gain in weight of specimen is noted and the percentage of water absorbed is calculated.
2)
Chemical Resistant Test : In our laboratory we are carrying out the test on our Chemical Resistant Mortars for various Chemical conditions. For this test, the specimen shall be casted right cylinders 25m dia x 25mm height with flat smooth faces normal without using any releasing agent. The set mortar specimen shall be tested for chemical resistant in chemical media at room temperature as well as required in I.S. 4456 (Part-I) 1967.
To have the prefect results, various types of factors are considered such as Inspection of Liquid, colour change in chemical media, sedimentation, inspection of surface like softening , itching, pitting, loss of gloss colour change in sample, change in weight and knocking of sample.
